Whether you’re new to making clothes or ready to move beyond basic sewing projects, dressmaking and making your own clothes is a rewarding skill that allows you to sew garments that fit your body, reflect your personal style and last for years.

Unlike ready-to-wear clothing, dressmaking gives you complete control over fit, fabric selection and garment design. By learning how to work with commercial sewing patterns and make simple fitting adjustments, you can create made-to-measure garments that are both comfortable and flattering.

My small-group dressmaking courses have been carefully curated to suit people with basic sewing skills who want to learn how to make their own clothes. Classes focus on understanding commercial sewing patterns, taking accurate body measurements, identifying fit issues and making pattern adjustments to create garments that fit properly.

Each dressmaking class focuses on a specific garment category, such as tops, skirts, dresses or pants. Students leave with a finished garment, an adjusted sewing pattern and practical skills they can apply to future sewing projects.
