ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Clothing Sustainability Workshops
No sewing experience required – all skill levels welcome.
Discover how to rethink your wardrobe and reduce textile waste in this inspiring and practical workshop focused on clothing sustainability and upcycling. Whether you’ve never sewn a stitch, know your way around a needle and thread, or are a seasoned maker looking to expand your skills, this session is designed for you.
I’ll explore the environmental impact of fast fashion and why sustainable clothing choices matter – now and for future generations. What to Bring
Bring a few garments you’d like to discuss – these could be things you no longer wear, that don’t fit quite right, or that you’d like to refresh. We’ll explore as many items as time allows and workshop ideas together.
Optional Clothing Swap: As part of Second Life Upcycling’s commitment to rethinking and reducing textile waste, you’re welcome to bring along good-quality clothes to swap with fellow attendees. This is a great way to give clothes a second life while supporting a circular economy. Note: Any leftover items will need to be taken home after the session – we are not able to offer a recycling or donation drop-off service.
Sewing Requirements
No sewing experience or equipment is needed. Sewing machines are not used in this session, but sewers will find plenty of inspiration to take their skills further.
