Mother and daughter sewing classes.

mother daughter sewing classes sydney

A private, 2-hour sewing lesson designed specifically for mothers and daughters.

Are you looking for a meaningful, creative activity you can enjoy together?

In a world where so much of our time is spent on screens, finding something hands-on, practical and genuinely engaging for both children and adults can be a challenge. That’s exactly why I’ve created my private mother and daughter sewing classes.

Designed to feel more like a creative experience than a traditional sewing class, this is the perfect place to begin your sewing journey or build on skills you’ve already developed.

Why learn to sew together?

Sewing is one of those mindful, hands-on skills that naturally brings people together. For children, it encourages creativity, problem-solving, patience and focus. For mothers, it offers the opportunity to spend quality time alongside your daughter, build confidence to support projects at home, and adopt more sustainable habits through repairing and making your own clothes.

The skills you learn in the workshop can easily be continued at home, whether that’s simple repairs, creative projects, upcycling clothes you already own, or even beginning to create your own handmade wardrobe.

A relaxed learning environment

One of the biggest benefits of this workshop is that it’s completely private. It’s just you and your child. No large groups. No pressure to keep up. No distractions.

This supportive and tailored environment means you can both to learn at your own pace, where questions are encouraged and confidence develops at your pace.

Whether you’re complete beginners or have tried sewing before and want to expand on existing skills or correct errors, your private lesson is tailored to suit your experience level.

Tailored to your skill levels and goals

During this 2-hour private sewing class, your session is tailored to suit your experience and what you would like to achieve. Depending on your needs, we can cover:

  • How to use a sewing machine safely
  • Basic sewing techniques and skills
  • Refining existing skills and improving technique
  • Troubleshooting common sewing challenges you may be experiencing
  • Practical skills you can continue using at home

You’ll each work on your own project, creating either an over-shoulder bag or a reversible tote bag to take home. These projects have been carefully designed to showcase the core skills that form the foundation of your sewing journey.

Alternatively, you may choose to focus on a specific project and receive guidance on overcoming recurring challenges or barriers you’ve encountered.
