1. Agreement to Terms
By booking and attending a virtual consultation with Second Life Upcycling (referred to as “the Virtual Consultation”), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Booking a session indicates your understanding and acceptance of these terms.
2. Nature of Virtual Consultations
Virtual consultations are held online via Zoom and provide guidance, ideas, and advice relating to clothes alteration, repair, and upcycling. These sessions are educational in nature and tailored to the individual, based on the information and garments shared during the consultation.
Participants are responsible for their own workspace, tools, equipment, and materials during and after the session.
3. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations by Participants
- Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund or may be rescheduled to another available time.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable.
Rescheduling by Participants
- Rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled session.
- Requests made less than 48 hours before the session may not be accommodated and may be treated as a late cancellation.
No-Shows
If a participant does not attend the virtual session at the scheduled time, and no prior notice is given, the session will be considered a no-show and no refund or reschedule will be offered.
4. Cancellations or Changes by Second Life Upcycling
Second Life Upcycling reserves the right to reschedule a virtual consultation in the unlikely event of illness, technical issues, or unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, participants will be offered the choice of a full refund or a rescheduled session.
5. Technical Requirements
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have:
- A stable internet connection
- A device capable of running Zoom
- Zoom installed prior to the session
Second Life Upcycling is not responsible for interruptions caused by internet issues, device failures, or technical difficulties on the participant’s end.
6. Disclaimer – Advice and Outcomes
Virtual consultations provide guidance, ideas, and recommendations only.
Participants acknowledge and agree that:
- All sewing, alteration, and upcycling work is undertaken at their own risk
- Second Life Upcycling is not responsible for the outcome of any project completed by the participant
- Garments may be damaged, altered irreversibly, or not meet expectations as a result of decisions made by the participant
Second Life Upcycling accepts no liability for:
- Mistakes, errors, or unsatisfactory results
- Damage to garments, fabrics, or materials
- Injury or loss resulting from the application of advice provided during the consultation
Participants are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to apply the advice given.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Life Upcycling, its owner, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, or claim arising from participation in a virtual consultation or from actions taken following the session.
8. Intellectual Property
All advice, materials, notes, and guidance provided during the virtual consultation remain the intellectual property of Second Life Upcycling and may not be recorded, shared, or reproduced without prior written consent.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
10. Changes to Terms
Second Life Upcycling reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will apply to future bookings only.
