These Terms & Conditions apply to all sustainability talks, presentations, workshops and corporate training sessions delivered by Second Life Upcycling (“we”, “us”, “our”) for corporate clients (“the Client”).
1. Services Provided
We will deliver the sustainability workshop, talk or presentation as agreed in writing with the Client.
The scope of the session, duration, format (in-person or virtual), and key learning outcomes will be confirmed prior to the event.
2. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed once:
- The date, time and session scope are agreed in writing, and
- A 50% deposit or signed acceptance of the proposal/quote (whichever is applicable) is received.
3. Fees & Payment Terms
Each sustainability workshop or presentation is tailored specifically to the Client’s needs and, therefore, the workshop fee will be agreed upon in writing prior to confirmation of the booking.
- A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking.
- The remaining 50% is due 14 days after the event, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- All pricing is in AUD unless otherwise stated.
- Late payments may incur an administrative fee.
Payment can be made by:
- Bank transfer (preferred)
- Credit card (Stripe)
- PayPal
Credit Card (Stripe) Processing Fee
If paying by credit card, a processing fee will apply. Stripe’s standard domestic card rate in Australia is typically 1.70% of the transaction amount plus A$0.30 per successful transaction.
Fees for international cards are higher and will be passed on at cost. The processing fee will be added to the invoice and is payable by the Client.
PayPal Processing Fee
Clients may also choose to pay via PayPal through a business invoice or PayPal link. For domestic payments in AUD, PayPal’s standard merchant fee is approximately 2.90% of the transaction amount plus A$0.30 per transaction. International or foreign-currency payments may incur additional cross-border and currency-conversion fees. These fees will be added to the invoice and are payable by the Client.
No processing fees are incurred if payment is made via bank transfer.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Because workshop dates are reserved exclusively for the Client and significant time is spent preparing customised content tailored to the Client’s needs, the following cancellation terms apply:
Client-Initiated Changes
- More than 7 days’ notice: No cancellation fee. The deposit can be refunded or transferred to a new date.
- Less than 7 days’ notice: 20% of the total fee is payable. The deposit can be transferred to a new date mutually agreed upon. No refunds are available.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice: 50% of the total fee is payable. The deposit can be transferred to a new date mutually agreed upon. No refunds are available.
Presenter-Initiated Changes
If we need to reschedule due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, we will offer the next available date. If no suitable date can be agreed, all payments will be refunded.
5. Travel, Parking & Venue Requirements (for in-person events)
- Travel within the Sydney metro area is included.
- Locations outside this area may incur travel fees.
- It is appreciated if parking can be provided.
Unless otherwise agreed, the Client is responsible for providing a suitable venue, seating, AV equipment, and any tools agreed upon for interactive components.
6. Virtual Workshops
For Zoom or online sessions:
- The Client must ensure attendees have stable internet access.
- The Client will provide the meeting link unless otherwise agreed.
We may record the session for internal quality purposes only, and you will be informed if this is the case. Where agreed in writing by both parties, footage may be used on our website, social media channels or other marketing materials.
7. Workshop Materials & Intellectual Property
All slides, worksheets, handouts, workshop content and examples remain the intellectual property of Second Life Upcycling.
The Client may:
- Use the materials for internal participant learning
- Not copy, edit, reproduce, resell or distribute the content outside the organisation without written permission.
8. Photography, Video & Media Use
- The Client must seek approval before photographing or filming the session.
- Any media captured must be for internal use unless otherwise authorised in writing.
- We will not film or photograph participants without consent.
9. Attendee Behaviour & Safety
The Client is responsible for ensuring:
- A safe, respectful learning environment,
- Attendee behaviour aligns with workplace policies,
- Any onsite safety requirements are communicated in advance.
- We reserve the right to discontinue a session if safety is compromised.
10. Accessibility & Special Requirements
If attendees have accessibility, mobility or learning needs, the Client must provide at least 14 days’ notice so the session can be adapted appropriately.
11. Liability
The information provided in the session is intended for general guidance only. Participants should rely on their own judgement, skill level and further research before applying any techniques discussed.
We accept no responsibility for:
- Loss or damage to personal property belonging to the Client or participants, including clothing or other items they choose to alter, mend or modify based on the information provided in the workshop.
- Any damage caused by participants applying workshop techniques incorrectly, unsafely, or without appropriate experience.
- Any business interruption costs.
- Injuries that occur due to unsafe venues, improper equipment provided by the Client, or failure to follow instructions.
Our total liability is limited to the amount of fees paid for the session.
12. Confidentiality
Any sensitive business information supplied by the Client will remain confidential and will not be shared with third parties.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By confirming a booking, paying a deposit or engaging us in writing, the Client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
